The engagement score is a calculation of the total employee engagement of the organization based on the survey results. It can be an overall, category, or question-by-question engagement score. The participants’ responses to the survey questions determine the score, which is given out of 100.
Let’s look at an example of a question-by-question engagement score.
Alex, Gary, and Suzie were taking part in a survey having one question and a rating scale of 1- 5. Each person can give a maximum rating of 5 points. Thus, the maximum possible score for three people is 15 i.e. 5 multiplied by 3.
Alex gave 1, Gary gave 4, and Suzie gave 5. The sum of the three people’s scores is 1+4+5=10.
Engagement score = Sum of Score given by employees/Maximum available score x 100
= 10/15 x 100
Engagement score = 66
